Greetings CAP applicants!
Although there has been much interest in the provision of regular work to the CAP program, the current volumes are insufficient to launch the initial group of emerging contractors. The CAP directors have therefore decided to simplify the structure of the programme by removing the tutorial component which was to be provided by NMC Business school should the funding have been available to do so. Without a history of mentoring success, it has also proved very difficult for the programme to raise the funding required to meet the financial commitments of the tutorial launch.
As a result of such, the programme can start on a much smaller scale, and increase incrementally as the provision of work dictates. The intention is for a small group of emerging contractors to commence their on-site mentorship programme in September, with participation in Shanduka Black Umbrellas programme subject to its standard selection criteria.
With nothing left to restrict the apprenticeship programme moving forward, we are looking forward to starting with humble yet realistic beginnings.
All of the CAP directors wish to thank NMC for their time and expertise that they have committed to the development of the programme over the last twelve months, and we look forward to revisiting the tutorial option with them when the volume of emerging contractors becomes sufficient.
